(Shannon Joseph) Our Story

After a year of searching for a location to explore, open and implement our ideas and visions of a salon, we found a small little store front on route 309 in Colmar, PA., in June of 2001. We named it Studio 44.  It came from Joe’s favorite number ‘44’. Shannon liked the studio description for a salon and Studio 44 was born.

With much hard work, long hours, creativity, innovation and recruiting a great staff and most of all, offering top notch service, we built consistent customer satisfaction and client loyalty. It wasn’t long we grew out of that location and began our search for a bigger and better building to grow into instead of out of.

During our 5 year lease on 309 and continuing to run and grow the business, we purchased a ranch house on an acre of land hardly a mile away in Lansdale, PA., in July of 2004.

After many months of collaboration on designs, permit filings and inspections, and after a year and a half of purchasing the property we finally broke ground and started construction January 9th of 2006.

Blessed with a great builder (that we are friends with to this day) and much help from our friends and family, we are proud building owners and salon business partners of a one of a kind, state of the art Salon and Spa. Without having to close even for a day, we opened our new salon for business on June 27, 2006.

We take much pride in what we offer our clients at our salon. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with - beautifully landscaped grounds including: endless blooming flowers from spring to winter, a 3000 gallon koi pond with the relaxing sounds of a five foot waterfall as you enter the salon and an EP Henry stoned entrance.

Inside, you stand upon amazing huge Italian tile floors, modern lighting, arched throughways, hardwood flooring in most of the main cutting and coloring areas, vaulted ceilings, stoned fire place and raised beams. All with a southwestern feel.

The commitment to legendary service is of utmost importance to us. Our staff is extremely competent, highly educated, creative and enthusiastic. 
The atmosphere in our salon is always warm and friendly. Most of our team has been with Studio 44 almost every step of the way. We don’t just say we are a team, you feel and see it when you are in our salon.

We recognize and are so very thankful for the many blessings that have made this all happen. From the people we worked with in the construction phases to our salon staff and the clients we serve now and look forward to in the future. With much gratitude we recognize we are truly living our American Dream.  A dream we aspire to share every day with our clients, our staff, our friends and family for many years to come.
